Part of the Rite Platform Ecosystem
A Jamaican Digital Crowdfunding, Volunteering & Events Community
Welcome to RiteRaise. RiteRaise is an online crowdfunding and community engagement platform owned and operated under the Rite Platform Ecosystem and accessible at RiteRaise.com. RiteRaise is designed to empower individuals, organisations, and communities — particularly within the Jamaican context — to raise funds, rally support, volunteer their time, and participate in both online and offline events.
These Terms of Service ("Terms", "Agreement") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", "your") and RiteRaise ("Platform", "we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using RiteRaise in any capacity — as a Campaign Creator, Contributor, Volunteer, or Event Participant — you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Please read these Terms carefully. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform.
SECTION 1: DEFINITIONS
For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply:
"Platform" — RiteRaise, the website accessible at RiteRaise.com and all associated services, tools, and features.
"Rite Ecosystem" — The broader suite of digital platforms operated under the Rite brand, including but not limited to RiteScopez.com, and RiteSelect.com.
"User" Any individual or entity that accesses or registers on the Platform, whether as a Campaign Creator, Contributor, Volunteer, or Event Participant.
"Campaign Creator" A User who initiates and manages a fundraising or community campaign on the Platform.
"Campaign" A fundraising initiative, community drive, or awareness effort published on the Platform by a Campaign Creator.
"Community Campaign" A Campaign created collectively or on behalf of a community group, neighbourhood, organisation, or cause, rather than a single individual.
"Contributor" A User who donates funds, provides in-kind support, or otherwise contributes to a Campaign.
"Volunteer" A User who registers to offer their time, skills, or labour in support of a Campaign or event without monetary compensation.
"Event" An activity, gathering, or programme associated with a Campaign or posted independently on the Platform, which may be conducted online or in a physical location.
"Event Participant" A User who books, registers, or attends an Event listed on the Platform.
"Contributions" Funds, pledges, in-kind donations, or other forms of support provided to a Campaign.
"Platform Fees" Charges applied by RiteRaise for facilitating transactions and services on the Platform.
"Campaign Page" The individual webpage on the Platform that displays a Campaign's details, goals, updates, and progress.
SECTION 2: ELIGIBILITY
2.1 Age Requirement
You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to create an account, initiate a Campaign, make a Contribution, register as a Volunteer, or book an Event on RiteRaise. Users between the ages of thirteen (13) and seventeen (17) may access the Platform only with verified parental or legal guardian consent and under direct adult supervision.
2.2 Legal Capacity
By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under applicable Jamaican law and the laws of any jurisdiction in which you reside or operate.
2.3 Organisations and Entities
If you are registering or acting on behalf of a business, non-profit, religious organisation, community group, or any other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2.4 Compliance
You must not use the Platform if you have been previously suspended, banned, or removed from RiteRaise or any other platform within the Rite Ecosystem for a violation of applicable Terms or policies.
SECTION 3: ACCOUNT REGISTRATION
3.1 Account Creation
To access the full features of RiteRaise, you must register for a User account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated at all times.
3.2 Account Security
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must immediately notify RiteRaise of any unauthorised use of your account or any security breach at support@riteraise.com.
3.3 Account Types
RiteRaise may offer different account types, including Individual Accounts, Organisation Accounts, and Volunteer Accounts. The features and permissions associated with each account type may vary and are subject to change at our discretion.
3.4 One Account Policy
You may not maintain more than one active personal account on the Platform. Duplicate accounts may be merged or terminated without prior notice.
3.5 Account Termination by User
You may close your account at any time by contacting RiteRaise support. Closing your account does not extinguish obligations for any active Campaigns, pending Contributions, or confirmed Event registrations.
SECTION 4: CAMPAIGNS
4.1 Who May Create a Campaign
Any registered User who meets our eligibility requirements may start a Campaign on RiteRaise. We welcome Campaigns from individuals, families, community groups, non-profit organisations, schools, churches, civic associations, and social enterprises.
4.2 Individual Campaigns
Individual Campaigns are initiated by a single User for a personal or cause-specific fundraising goal. Examples include medical bills, educational fees, disaster relief, business start-up, or creative projects.
4.3 Community Campaigns
Community Campaigns are collective fundraising efforts initiated by or on behalf of a group. Community Campaigns may designate multiple administrators or campaign managers. All administrators are jointly responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and proper use of funds raised through a Community Campaign.
4.4 Campaign Content Requirements
All Campaigns must include:
A clear, honest, and descriptive Campaign title
A detailed description of the purpose, goals, and intended use of funds
A realistic fundraising target
An estimated timeline or deadline (where applicable)
Accurate contact information for the Campaign Creator
Supporting documentation, images, or verifiable evidence where relevant
4.5 Prohibited Campaigns
You may not create a Campaign for any of the following purposes:
Illegal activities, fraud, or deception of any kind
Hate speech, discrimination, or content that targets individuals or groups based on race, colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
Political campaigns intended to directly fund the election of a specific candidate
Gambling, lottery, or games of chance
Purchase of illegal weapons, narcotics, or controlled substances
Any activity that violates applicable Jamaican law or international law
Personal enrichment without a legitimate, disclosed cause
Counterfeit, fraudulent, or misleading charitable representations
4.6 Campaign Verification
RiteRaise reserves the right, but is not obligated, to verify Campaign information. Displaying a verification badge or indicator on a Campaign Page does not constitute an endorsement by RiteRaise of the Campaign's legitimacy, claims, or the Campaign Creator's intentions.
4.7 Campaign Updates
Campaign Creators are encouraged to post regular updates on their Campaign Pages to keep Contributors and the community informed of progress, challenges, and fund utilisation.
4.8 Campaign Duration
Campaigns may run for a period designated by the Campaign Creator. RiteRaise reserves the right to set maximum Campaign durations and to extend or terminate Campaigns at our discretion for compliance reasons.
4.9 Campaign Removal
RiteRaise may remove, suspend, or modify any Campaign that violates these Terms, applicable law, or our community standards, with or without prior notice. Where funds have already been collected on a removed Campaign, RiteRaise will exercise commercially reasonable efforts to facilitate appropriate refunds to Contributors.
SECTION 5: CONTRIBUTIONS
5.1 Making Contributions
Users may contribute financially to any active Campaign listed on the Platform. By making a Contribution, you authorise RiteRaise and its payment processing partners to charge your designated payment method for the stated amount.
5.2 Currency
All Contributions on RiteRaise are processed in Jamaican Dollars (JMD) or such other currencies as the Platform may support from time to time. International Contributors may be subject to currency conversion fees charged by their respective financial institutions.
5.3 Payment Processing
RiteRaise uses third-party payment processors to facilitate transactions. By making a Contribution, you agree to the terms and conditions of our designated payment processing partners. RiteRaise does not store full payment card information on its servers.
5.4 Non-Binding Nature of Contributions
A Contribution to a Campaign does not create a legal contract between the Contributor and the Campaign Creator, nor does it guarantee a specific outcome. RiteRaise does not guarantee that a Campaign will reach its stated fundraising goal or that funds will be used as described.
5.5 No Refund Guarantee
Contributions to Campaigns are generally non-refundable unless the Campaign is found to be fraudulent, was removed by RiteRaise for violating these Terms, or a specific refund policy is stated on the Campaign Page. Refund requests must be submitted to support@riteraise.com within fourteen (14) calendar days of the Contribution.
5.6 Recurring Contributions
Where the Platform offers recurring or subscription-based contribution options, you authorise RiteRaise to charge your designated payment method on the stated recurring schedule until you cancel. You may cancel recurring Contributions at any time through your account settings.
5.7 Anonymous Contributions
Contributors may choose to make their Contribution anonymous. However, RiteRaise retains internal records of all transactions for legal compliance, anti-fraud, and audit purposes.
SECTION 6: PLATFORM FEES AND PAYOUTS
6.1 Platform Fee
RiteRaise charges a Platform Fee on funds raised through the Platform. The applicable Platform Fee rate is published on our Pricing Page at RiteRaise.com/pricing and may be updated from time to time with reasonable notice to Campaign Creators.
6.2 Payment Processing Fees
In addition to the Platform Fee, payment processing fees charged by our third-party payment processors will be deducted from total funds collected. These fees vary depending on the payment method and are detailed on the Pricing Page.
6.3 Payout Process
Campaign Creators may request a payout of collected funds at intervals or milestones as specified in the Platform's payout policy. Payouts are subject to identity verification, account standing review, and applicable regulatory compliance checks.
6.4 Holds and Delays
RiteRaise reserves the right to place a temporary hold on funds pending investigation of suspected fraud, a dispute, or a reported violation. We will communicate the reason for any hold and the expected resolution timeline where possible.
6.5 Taxes
Campaign Creators are solely responsible for determining and fulfilling any tax obligations arising from funds received through the Platform. RiteRaise does not provide tax advice. Users should consult a qualified tax professional regarding their obligations under Jamaican tax law and any other applicable jurisdiction.
SECTION 7: VOLUNTEERING
7.1 Volunteer Registration
Users may register on RiteRaise as Volunteers to offer their time and skills in support of Campaigns, community initiatives, or Events. Volunteer profiles must accurately represent the User's skills, experience, and availability.
7.2 Volunteer Matching
RiteRaise may provide tools that enable Campaign Creators and Organisers to search for, invite, and coordinate with registered Volunteers. The acceptance or rejection of Volunteer applications is at the sole discretion of the Campaign Creator or Event Organiser.
7.3 No Employment Relationship
Volunteering through RiteRaise does not create an employment, contractor, partnership, or agency relationship between the Volunteer and RiteRaise, or between the Volunteer and the Campaign Creator or Event Organiser. RiteRaise is not responsible for any disputes arising from Volunteer engagements.
7.4 Volunteer Safety
Campaign Creators and Event Organisers who engage Volunteers are responsible for ensuring a safe and lawful environment for Volunteer activities, particularly for in-person or offline engagements. Volunteers are encouraged to report safety concerns to RiteRaise at safety@riteraise.com.
7.5 Volunteer Conduct
Volunteers are expected to uphold the community standards of RiteRaise, act with integrity, and fulfil commitments they make to Campaign Creators and Event Organisers. Misconduct by Volunteers may result in account suspension or removal from the Platform.
7.6 No Compensation
Volunteering is unpaid by nature. Campaign Creators or Organisers must not use the Volunteer system as a mechanism to engage paid labour without proper disclosure and compensation. Any arrangement involving payment to a Volunteer must be disclosed and managed outside the Platform's Volunteer feature.
SECTION 8: EVENTS
8.1 Event Listings
Campaign Creators and authorised Organisers may list Events on RiteRaise that are associated with their Campaigns or community activities. Events may be online (virtual) or offline (in-person) and may be free or paid.
8.2 Online Events
Online Events hosted through or listed on the Platform must provide accurate access details, including links, platform requirements, and scheduled times. RiteRaise is not responsible for technical failures or third-party platform outages that affect the delivery of online Events.
8.3 Offline Events
Offline Events listed on the Platform must include accurate venue details, date, time, and any attendance requirements. Organisers of offline Events are responsible for complying with all applicable local laws, permits, health and safety requirements, and regulations in Jamaica or the relevant jurisdiction.
8.4 Event Booking
Users may book or register for Events through their RiteRaise account. Booking a free Event constitutes a reservation of a place. Booking a paid Event constitutes a financial transaction governed by the payment and refund provisions of these Terms.
8.5 Event Fees and Tickets
For paid Events, Platform Fees and payment processing fees apply to ticket or registration sales. Event Organisers are responsible for setting accurate pricing and for communicating any inclusions, exclusions, or terms associated with Event tickets.
8.6 Event Cancellations and Refunds
If an Event is cancelled by the Organiser, registered participants shall be entitled to a full refund of any fees paid. If a User cancels their Event booking, refund eligibility is determined by the Organiser's stated refund policy, which must be disclosed on the Event listing. In the absence of a stated policy, no refund is guaranteed for User-initiated cancellations.
8.7 Event Conduct
All participants at RiteRaise-listed Events — whether online or offline — are expected to conduct themselves respectfully and lawfully. Event Organisers reserve the right to remove participants who engage in disruptive, harmful, or unlawful behaviour without a refund.
8.8 RiteRaise Not the Event Organiser
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, RiteRaise is a platform that facilitates the listing and booking of Events but is not the organiser, host, or operator of any Event. RiteRaise makes no representations or warranties regarding the quality, safety, legality, or occurrence of any Event listed on the Platform.
SECTION 9: USER CONDUCT AND COMMUNITY STANDARDS

All Users of RiteRaise are expected to act with honesty, respect, and integrity. You must not use the Platform to harm, deceive, intimidate, harass, or defraud other Users or third parties.

12.1 Platform "As Is"
RiteRaise is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
12.2 No Guarantee of Campaign Success
RiteRaise does not guarantee that any Campaign will achieve its fundraising goal, that Contributors will receive the outcomes described by Campaign Creators, or that funds will be used as stated. Contributors contribute at their own risk.
12.3 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RiteRaise and its officers, directors, employees, agents, partners, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Platform, even if RiteRaise has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
12.4 Aggregate Liability Cap
In no event shall RiteRaise's total liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Platform exceed the greater of: (a) the total Platform Fees paid by you to RiteRaise in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim; or (b) the equivalent of five thousand Jamaican Dollars (JMD $5,000).
12.5 Third-Party Actions
RiteRaise is not liable for the actions, conduct, representations, or omissions of any Campaign Creator, Contributor, Volunteer, Event Organiser, or Event Participant. Your interactions with other Users are at your own risk.
SECTION 13: INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RiteRaise, the Rite Platform Ecosystem, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
Your use of or access to the Platform
Your breach of these Terms
