RiteRaise is a Jamaican crowdfunding and community engagement platform where anyone can raise funds, mobilise volunteers, and host events. As a Campaign Creator, you create a Campaign Page describing your cause, set a fundraising goal, and share it with your network. Contributors can then donate directly through the platform. RiteRaise handles the payment processing and pays out your raised funds according to our payout schedule.
Any registered user aged 18 or over can start a campaign. Users between 13 and 17 may start a campaign only with verified parental or guardian consent. You can campaign as an individual, a family, a community group, a non-profit organisation, a school, a church, or a business. There is no requirement to be a registered charity to raise funds on RiteRaise.
RiteRaise supports a wide range of campaigns, including:
Personal causes — medical bills, educational fees, housing needs
Community campaigns — neighbourhood improvements, school projects, public spaces
Disaster and emergency relief
Business and creative projects
Cultural, sporting, and community events
Memorial and tribute campaigns
Non-profit and charity fundraising
💡 Campaigns for illegal activities, gambling, fraudulent purposes, or hate-based causes are strictly prohibited. See our Community Guidelines for the full list.
There is no set minimum fundraising goal. You may set your goal based on what you genuinely need to achieve your stated purpose. We encourage you to set a realistic and justifiable goal rather than inflating it beyond your actual needs. There is no platform-imposed maximum, though very large goals may be subject to additional verification.
You may set your own campaign duration at the time of creation. RiteRaise does not currently impose a maximum campaign duration, though campaigns that remain inactive for extended periods may be flagged for review. You can close your campaign at any time once your goal is met or if you no longer need to raise funds.
A strong campaign page includes:
A clear, honest campaign title
A detailed description of your cause and how funds will be used
Your fundraising goal and, where relevant, a breakdown of costs
A realistic timeline or deadline
Supporting images, documents, or evidence of your cause
Your contact information
💡 The more transparent and specific your campaign is, the more trust it will earn from potential contributors.
Yes. You can update your campaign description, images, goal amount, and other details after publishing. However, you should not make changes that fundamentally misrepresent your original campaign purpose without clearly communicating those changes to your existing contributors. Significant changes to fund use should be disclosed in a campaign update.
You can post updates directly on your Campaign Page through your account dashboard. We strongly encourage regular updates — at least once every two weeks on active campaigns — to keep your contributors informed of progress. Updates build trust and often help drive continued contributions.
Yes. For Community Campaigns, you can designate additional administrators or campaign managers through your account settings. All administrators share joint responsibility for the campaign's content, fund management, and communications. For individual campaigns, you remain the sole accountable party even if you receive assistance from others.
RiteRaise operates on a keep-what-you-raise model. You retain all funds contributed to your campaign regardless of whether you reach your stated goal, minus applicable platform and payment processing fees. You remain responsible for using whatever funds you receive for the stated purpose of your campaign.
Yes. Registered users may run multiple campaigns simultaneously, provided each campaign has a legitimate, distinct purpose and complies with our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
RiteRaise charges a platform fee on funds raised, plus a payment processing fee charged by our third-party payment partners. The current fee rates are published on our Pricing Page at RiteRaise.com/pricing. Fees are deducted from the funds collected before payout — you do not pay anything upfront to create or run a campaign.
Funds are paid out to Campaign Creators according to our standard payout schedule, which is detailed on the Pricing Page. To receive a payout, you must have completed identity verification and provided valid banking or payment details. Payouts are processed in Jamaican Dollars (JMD) to a local bank account or supported payment method.
You can close your campaign at any time from your account dashboard. If you close your campaign before your goal is reached, any funds already collected remain available for payout. Be sure to post a final update to inform your contributors of the outcome and how funds will be used.
Guest contributions may be available on some campaigns, but creating a free RiteRaise account is recommended. An account allows you to track your contribution history, receive campaign updates, message campaign creators, and access receipts for your records.
RiteRaise accepts a range of payment methods including major debit and credit cards and supported local payment options. Available payment methods are displayed at checkout. We are committed to expanding our local payment options to serve the Jamaican community better.
Yes. RiteRaise uses third-party payment processors that are compliant with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS). We do not store your card details on our servers. All transactions are encrypted using secure technology.
Yes. You may choose to make your contribution anonymous at the point of giving. Your name will not appear publicly on the Campaign Page. However, RiteRaise retains internal records of all transactions for legal and compliance purposes.
Yes. A contribution receipt will be sent to the email address associated with your account immediately after a successful transaction. You can also access your full contribution history and receipts from your account dashboard.
RiteRaise takes steps to review campaigns and may display verification indicators on certain Campaign Pages. However, we cannot guarantee the legitimacy of every campaign. Before contributing, we recommend:
Reading the full campaign description carefully
Checking whether supporting documents or images have been provided
Looking at whether the Campaign Creator has a complete, verified profile
Reading any comments or updates on the Campaign Page
Searching for the cause independently if you have doubts
💡 If you suspect a campaign is fraudulent, please report it using the Report button on the Campaign Page or email report@riteraise.com.
If a campaign is removed for violating our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, RiteRaise will exercise its best efforts to facilitate appropriate refunds to contributors. We will contact affected contributors via the email on their account.
Yes. You may contribute in another person's name or on behalf of a group. The contribution will be processed through your account and payment method. The receipt will be issued to your account.
Once you have a RiteRaise account, you can set up a Volunteer Profile from your account dashboard. Your profile should include your skills, areas of interest, availability, and a brief bio. A complete and honest profile increases your chances of being matched with campaigns and events that suit you.
No. Volunteering through RiteRaise is unpaid by definition. If a Campaign Creator or Event Organiser wishes to compensate someone for their time, that arrangement must be managed as a formal employment or contractor relationship outside the platform's Volunteer feature. Using the Volunteer system to engage paid labour without proper disclosure is a violation of our Community Guidelines.
Yes. You can apply to volunteer for as many campaigns and events as your time and capacity allow. We encourage you to be realistic about your commitments — accepting a volunteer role you cannot fulfil affects the campaign and reflects poorly on your volunteer record.
You can browse upcoming events on the RiteRaise Events page, or discover events linked to campaigns you are already following. You can filter events by type, date, location, and whether they are free or paid.
Click the Book or Register button on the Event Page and follow the prompts. For free events, booking is instant. For paid events, you will be taken through a secure payment process. You will receive a booking confirmation by email.
